DAYSEEKER comparten video de su nuevo single "Shapeshift"

 

Desde el sur de California, DAYSEEKER — Rory Rodriguez [voz], Gino Sgambelluri [guitarra], Ramone Valerio [bajo] y Zac Mayfield [batería] — han compartido el video de su nuevo single "Shapeshift".

"Esta canción trata sobre la ansiedad con la que vivo a diario", dice Rodriguez. "Una carta abierta a mí mismo sobre cómo cambia y me moldea en una versión diferente de mí".

La canción es el tercer single de la banda extraído de su recientemente anunciado nuevo álbum Creature In The Black Night, que sale el 24 de octubre vía Spinefarm.

Producido por Daniel Braunstein (Spiritbox, Silent Planet) y mezclado por Zakk Cervini (Blink-182, Bring Me The Horizon, Lorna Shore), el álbum es el más inmersivo e intencional de Dayseeker hasta la fecha — inquietante, cinematográfico y atravesado por una oscura (y sensual) corriente emocional.

Aunque no es un álbum conceptual en el sentido tradicional, Creature in the Black Night exhibe cohesión temática, desde su identidad visual sombría, la iconografía de la Grim Reaper y su atmósfera ominosa, hasta la manera en que sus canciones se despliegan como capítulos. "Hay un aire inspirado en el horror que se apoderó desde el principio", explica Rodriguez. "No fue planeado. Pero una vez que empezó a aparecer en las canciones, lo adoptamos."

Los fans que esperaban un descenso melancólico hacia la depresión pueden sorprenderse — Creature In The Black Night tiene aristas más filosas, riffs más pesados y un nuevo sentido de claridad. "Existía la idea de que con el tiempo nos volveríamos más y más comerciales", dice Rodriguez. "Pero creo que pasó lo contrario — estamos riffiando más, yo grito más. Y se siente bien. Se siente honesto."

Dayseeker no solo ha evolucionado. Han ascendido.
